Here at North Sound Pediatrics, we treat following a risk-benefit model of medicine. We carefully determine if the proposed treatment is worth the expected risk and benefit.

Sick Child
North Sound Pediatrics is committed to being here when you need us! If your child is sick and requires medical attention, please call our office at 425-338-5668 to schedule an appointment.

  • We strive to offer same-day or next-day visits for any child who is sick, which means wait times can potentially be increased as we work your child into our busy schedule. We ask for your patience and understanding in these situations as we feel is it very important to prioritize each child's visit and offer the highest quality of care needed.

Sick/Injured After Hours

  • If your child is experiencing lift-threatening symptoms, call 911 immediately.
  • For urgent, but non-life-threatening issues (i.e. fractures, bleeding that won’t stop, difficulty breathing, severe burns, seizures, etc.) after hours, take your child to Children’s emergency room.
  • For serious, after-hours medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day, please call our office line for additional instructions.
  • Avoid using the emergency room for non-emergency care; call instead for advice or to schedule a visit.
  • If your child is seen in another facility, please call us to schedule a follow-up visit.

Medications
Dr. Shlafer does not routinely recommend the use of most over-the-counter medications. Please contact the office if you have any questions regarding medications.
